The CAT framework includes three components: collaboration (C) to support inter-psychological interactions and intrinsic mediation, authentic tasks (A) as the object of the activity, and technological to support explicit and implicit tools mediation (T). This professional workshop includes two main activities: participants act either as student or as learning activity designers. The CAT framework is used as a heuristic to: design this workshop on the use of technology in teaching and learning, explore different pedagogical uses of game-based learning, design and evaluate learning activities and artefacts respectively, and evaluate the workshop.
