NWU Open Learning (Short Term Consultancy)

The Learning Design courses provided to NWU ASS in 2015

This hands-on workshop draws on the latest thinking on learning design and development. In order to determine a workable way forward to design your courses, a series of hands-on design activities guided by the 7Cs of Learning Design Toolkit will be undertaken in small groups to enable you to reflect on your current learning design project. The workshop is designed to assist in the development of a balanced variety of teaching and learning activities to address the wide range of expectations of adult learners in the 21st century, and to reuse Open Educational Resources (OER) where appropriate.

This hands-on workshop draws on the latest thinking on learning design and development. In order to determine a workable way forward to design our courses, a series of hands-on design activities guided by the 7Cs of Learning Design Toolkit will be undertaken in small groups to enable you to reflect on your current learning design project. We then move the focus to development via a practical exploration of some Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) tools to support the implementation of your design, taking care to match the tool to pedagogical purpose and environment. The workshop is designed to assist in the development of a balanced variety of teaching and learning activities to address the wide range of expectations of adult learners in the 21st century, and to reuse Open Educational Resources (OER) where appropriate.
